We believe that ATE plays a profoundly important role on the Canadian scene:

  • bridging the gaps between African Canadians and other Canadians
  • breaking down stereotypes and replacing them with reality
  • expanding the definition of Canadian theatre
  • providing training, experience and jobs for talented Canadians
  • helping to create a Canadian society in which people of African origin can feel a full sense of belonging.
